Where in the world…

August 1, 2012

is the working mommy?!  June and early July has been a whirlwind of activity on the job front.  I have been very blessed to be able to slow down my travels, but sometimes they just all come at once.  At least when I leave now, I generally enjoy the destination in which I am headed.  As much as you can while missing your children.

So round one trip…Burbank, CA.

We had a great team meeting complete with humiliating bonding experiences.  I can’t believe I am showing the below picture, but hey, gotta keep it real.  Right?  I don’t want this little gym to get lost in my photo archives.  😉  It was supposed to be our tribute to the NBA playoffs, somehow I don’t think that point was actually made.

Next stop…Chicago, IL.

I had a wonderful, but very busy conference at the end of June in the windy city, but managed to get some time in to see one of my besties.  It was a great time and I loved being back in Chicago after being away for so long.   One of the nights we had Mediterranean cuisine, which I am a little iffy on, but took one for the team.  It actually ended up being really good and the company was even better.

We lunched at the Hancock tower, which had great views, but a very limited menu.  So in a shock to all…I went with beef!  It was sure tasty!  It was a wonderful treat and so thankful to Kim for setting it up!

Last up…New York City!

I love, love, love going to touristy areas with people who actually call them home.  It is such a different view then if you set out on your own.  We were lucky enough to do some amazing things while in the city that never sleeps.  We first went to Broadway where we took in a show.  It was fantabulous.  I generally like musicals, but this was a great play and I very much enjoyed it.  Evidently, Lawrence F1shburne also enjoyed it as he was sitting in front of me in the audience.  After the play we ventured into Times Square where we took in the night life.

We had a great dinner here and here.  I would gain a ton of weight if I lived in this city.  So many good food options and both restaurants were packed at 11pm.  But alas I did have to work as we were shooting a marketing video.  It was a crazy trip, but so enjoyable.  I hope to go back soon, but not too soon!
