Where has the time gone?!?

September 26, 2010

I can’t believe that it is already the end of September.  I can’t believe my baby is almost 14 months.  I can’t believe I will be 33 in 6 months.  I can’t believe pumpkin season is here. And finally, I can’t believe how busy we have been over the past three months.  I thought when Ainsley got older, time would go a little slower, but it seems to be flying by quicker every day.  Maybe it’s because Ainsley is more mobile, and is a TOTAL outside kid.  I really think she could live in a tent in the back yard and be perfectly content.   I love the great outdoors, but not that much!  We are went on our second family vacation in early September to Colorado to see my brother and SIL.  We had a great time.  She has come a long way since the Bahamas (where I was sure I was going to throw myself off the balcony.  Her sleep is better.  She does now sleep for a consecutive 8 hours on most nights and takes a 2 hour nap most days.  Those are the LONGEST spells she has even gone sleeping consistently.  And it has taken almost 14 months to get there.  It doesn’t matter, I am just thankful for our healthy, happy, independent little girl!

We went to the lake for the Fourth of July to see the fireworks.  She loved the fireworks, hated he life jacket.  We put it on and she instantly became stiff as a board in protest.

But once we removed the life vest, our little water baby was  Do not fret, we were in a shallow, cove area.

I then went to Puerto Rico for work.  I know, I know…someone has to take one for the team…;)  I didn’t get many pictures, but it was very nice.  Shortly after my cousin got married in a beautiful ceremony.  I don’t have many pictures as I was wrangling a toddler all evening, but suffice to say it was beautiful.  I did manage to get a few of Ainsley.

Then of course Ainsley turned one!  I can’t believe it.  Just a few highlights since I last updated

–Started walking at 10 months–at 11 months started running marathons

–Started sleeping consistently 14 months and please God let that stay true

–Had 8 teeth at her first birthday

-Loves books and animals

-The pickiest eater you will ever find.  Dislikes most foods, including milk, which is why she is still on formula.  Loves macaroni and cheese, bananas, dried blueberries, graham crackers, and cottage cheese (gag!!)

Hopefully I will update the blog more consistently, but I say that each time–that is if anyone is still reading.  Maybe one of these days it will actually be true!!!
