A couple of firsts….

August 17, 2009

Also this week, we had our first doctors appt…you can see how that went.  I can’t imagine what is going to happen when she gets her shots.

No more doctor!!!!!!

No more doctor!!!!!!

Another first around the household is a lack of sleep.  I by no means am complaining, but just exhausted.  I guess I never really thought about the implications of this.  So far, she is an excellent baby, very satisfied and very loving.  She does sleep most nights, but she does like to be held.  You can’t blame her, after being snuggled up in the womb for the last 9 months, I would want to be held for body heat also.  But needless to say, as with any child, it has been an adjustment.  So far we have been making it, but it has definitely been a trip.  I have never survived so long on so little sleep.  Except in college, with all my…ahem…studying.  She is now two weeks old and I still struggle to comprehend life before her.  She is by far the best thing that has happened to us, even if I feel like she looks once in a while–okay all the while–during tummy time.

She’s so lovely, Gwen. I’m so happy to hear that you’re getting in the swing of motherhood. Sleep deprivation is rough, but the rewards are so great.

This really has been the most amazing experience so far! I love seeing her pics and then looking at Sawyer. So fun to go through this around the same time with you. Keep up the good, hard work. Our adrenaline has finally started to wear off and staying awake is getting harder. But then I just look at him, my heart swells, and the Lord keeps us going. Praying for you!
