A fitting beginning.

July 21, 2009

Last weekend we were in our State Capital to attend a retirement party for my father-in-law.  He has been in the military for 42 years, never once complaining about his duties.  In fact, he loves them so much, he really didn’t want to retire.  But he felt the time was right.  More pumpkin farming I guess!!  He retired with a very distinguished service record and most recently leading a operation to feed people in Afghanistan.  I am proud to say that my husband is following in his footsteps.  I won’t sit here and tell you that it is super easy on a person, or a family, to have a member serve in the military, but I am happy that my husband loves freedom enough to help secure it for our children.
