Breaking ground and then some.

February 16, 2009

After a much anticipated wait, we finally started digging on our house.  Finally!  Hallelujah to the weatherman!  I think.  Imagine this house

In this field

With these two happy people living in it who are not windblown and squinting from the sun

I know it has been a while since I last posted, but things have been a little unsetteling here at the homestead.  Last week included, but was not limited to the following:

1.  A tornado touching down just up the road, while I slept soundly in my knickers!

2.  Someone obtaining my credit card and charging up a storm across Europe–lucky chaps!

3.  Weathering a windfall of the not so positive sort at my job

4. Finding out we will most likely have to submit our information an alternative way to the  Colombian government, increasing our wait time.

5.  Renting a duplex at the spur of the moment b.c Big J and I don’t like living apart anymore secondary to the news that our house will probably take the full 6 months, which is probably an optimistic figure.

6.  Deciding to give our house 1-2 more months on the market, then we are going to rent it and move on with our lives.

But don’t get me wrong.  There have been many positive things that have happened in our lives lately and I am ever so grateful for that.  God is good, even on the most challenging of days….

The house is sooo cute! I bet Melissa could photoshop all three of those pics together for ya so that you could be standing in front of your house in the field 🙂

Wow…thats a busy couple of weeks! Love the house. Looks really cute. Sorry about the potential delays on the Colombia front. Hopefully they won’t be long. I can tell you they are well worth it. Have you given any though about adopting more than 1 at a time? If you are considering adopting more than one child eventually it is more cost effective and faster and Colombia tries to keep siblings together so your children would be bio-siblings. Just something to consider while you are going through the process.
