Moving on up!

January 27, 2009

It has been such a full week since I blogged last.  We finally did hit rock bottom with the chaos in our life, so I believe we are on the upswing.  Last week I became sick and was instructed to lay around for 3 days by my doctor because I am doing too much.  Um, yeah…..  But the pinnacle was on Monday before I left for KC.  I couldn’t sleep because I had to drive to KC and it was supposed to ice and snow and my husband had me all worked up about it.  Jer was also super tired from all the back and forth, plus he had the Army that weekend.  I finally fell asleep at about 3 am, which I was supposed to leave at 6.  I knew that was not going to work.  Jer had to leave for work at 6 to be there by 8.  I had been up and down all night and finally was feeling the REM sleep kick in at about 7am, so I called my husband to let him know not to call me because I was going to get some sleep before I made the trek.  So I called him, and imagine my surprise, when he told me that he had to pull over because he was too tired to drive and was sleeping in his truck on the side of the road like a hobo–a hobo in an F-150.  In my stupor, I realized that something had to change.  I don’t really know what that will be, but we are working on that.  Meanwhile we forge ahead on the house.  I am hoping it is just a slow go in the beginning and once things get rolling it will go faster.  Keep dreaming, I know.  But I am feeling encouraged that we at least have an option.  Meanwhile the snow and ice continue to dump on us and I finally feel somewhat vindicated.  The weather people are earning their keep!!!
