It was all very Merry.

December 27, 2008

This year was another great Chritsmas.  The morning started out normal enough, we had the traditional breakfast casserole in the morning, then about 11am-shabam-no power.  So…we had a little Christmas improv.  It was probably best it happened early, at least we didn’t have a house full of guests at that point who had made the drive for no reason.  We then all made the trek on into STL to have Christmas at my aunts, which turned out very nicely.  I felt bad for my aunt, she has only been back from Australia for 2 days, then she gets a house full of company.  Welcome home!!!!!  I also felt bad for my mom as she put all that work into making the house festive and the foods yummy and she has to move it to someone else’s house.  Oh well, that is the way life goes!  This is the second time that my poor mother had to do this.  Two years ago, Jeremiah came down with the stomach flu the morning of Christmas where he proceeded to hurl his guts out all the day long.  We had to move Christmas to my grandmas, complete with food, presents, and 20 people.  Needless to say Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year.  Nothing else even compares.  The food, the giving, and just all around merriment of the season.  I also find myself with more and more to be grateful for every year.  While some years bring more challenges than others, those challenges have made me who I am today, which is better than who I was yesterday…..which is all I can ask for!!

The secret is in the sauce, right? (Okay, if you don’t remember that movie, the quote won’t make any sense). I think you need to blog more often, the internet is boring without things to read. Call me tomorrow.
