It was lost, but now is found.

November 30, 2008

Am I the only one who checks pockets of old book bags and purses when they have been out of commission for years?  If you do have this odd obsession, you know where this is going.  It can be like Christmas sometimes and today it was definitely early Christmas here at the compound.  To preface this little incident, I must admit a part of my OCD personality is to throw things away.  Unfortunately, I tend to throw away both non-important and very important things with equal disregard.  I have thrown away three marriage certificates, 2 birth certificates, and various other important government issued certificates.  Hence my 171H is in a locked safe–that I don’t really know the combo to.  It’s the best for everyone.  This afternoon we were loading things into my husbands truck when we came across a bag that I used during late college.  Big J initially threw it in the trash, but I wanted to go through the pockets–you never know what you are going to find.  And that was true today.  I found our ORIGINAL marriage license.  It is the same license I was sure that I left in a dumpster somewhere north of I-70 or in a trash bin at the Cayman Islands airport.  So after 5 years, it shows up.  I was so excited I almost fell over.  I was going to be happy with a crumpled $5 bill.  A blind hog finds an acorn in the woods every now and then! 😉

Sadly enough, Ralph is sick and tired of getting his picture taken, so now he is sticking his tongue out at me. Brilliant.

That is a very funny picture. I am also digging how you are now referring to your husband as Big J. Makes him sound like a trucker.
