Home Sweet Home!

September 7, 2008

We made it home!  Only 18 hours of flying time, 24 hours in an airport, and just two bad plane meals later we arrived late last night.  The airport in Brisbane was a nightmare, people (including ourselves) were waiting for 1.5 hours to get ticketed, not including the security and customs that you had to go through.  We barely made it in time to get on our flight, but they ended up holding the flight as there were a lot of people even further back in the line than us.  Which made us late to LA, so you can image how restless the natives were on the plane, a full plane I might add.  It is so weird, we didn’t get any jet lag coming back either, just really tired the day we were flying, but other than that–nothing.  Maybe it will hit me in a couple days.  It is so great to be back.  Even the Black Widow was happy to see us, he won’t leave our sides.  I guess it is time to get back to the reality of life, but it’s all good.  Luckily I like my life!  Oh, except for the 250 emails that await me on my blackberry.  I am blocking that out for another 24 hours.  I woke up the early this morning thinking about all the things that I have to do for work.  A far cry from 24 hours ago,  we were holding Koalas and strolling the streets of Brisbane.  I will say that I thoroughly enjoyed our trip and feel refreshed and ready to go.  Australia and New Zealand are amazing places, I know we will go back at some point.  It is also so similar to the US, I really think I could live there, but I also know I feel privileged to be an American and there is nothing like being home in the US, so we will so how the relocation plans go… ;).  I will be uploading pics from our trip over the next week and am going to start harassing people again about our adoption shortly also, more on that later.  Still trying to check things off the list!  These are my favorite pictures from our time abroad, even if they are not the most flattering…… worries mate!

Maybe if you move overseas someday I’ll be able to coax my sister into an international trip!! Meaning, of course, that I’ll have to stay at your house, too. I’m nothing if not pushy, right?! I’m glad you had such an awesome time.
