Today we heard from our agency!!  Since our home study is completed, we are to file with USCIS (Immigration), send a copy to our agency for review, then compile our dossier, have it translated to Spanish, then send it to Bogata.  Sounds easy-right?  Not so much.  Our situation is a little more complicated, we are doing things out of order.  We were lucky enough to get a *tip* to file with USCIS before April 1st, to grandfather us in under the old system using the I600 (usually done at the beginning with an agency).   This in essence should speed the process up, but since I am depending on the government, I will refrain from being optimistic.  Under the new system, the I800 will be the new form used to petition the government to adopt an “orphan”.  I am sure this process will be good in time, but right now it is so new, that no one knows much about it.  The thing that was making me bite my fingernails to the quick is that we really need to have our HS filed with USCIS ASAP so we do not lose our money and our spot in the *old* system.  Also, the sooner I get it filed, the sooner we will be approved!  So right now, we sit and -you guessed right-wait some more.  I am hoping to get our HS filed with USCIS by the end of the week.  Keep your fingers crossed!

Yippee! Any progress is progress. And each teeny step gets you closer to your child!
Unfortunately, there’s lots of this “hurry up and wait” ahead of you. Wish I had better news on that front!
    But celebrate the progress!!!!!
