Feeling Calm

June 28, 2008

Today I am feeling oddly calm.  I really don’t know what to attribute that to, especially in light of the fact that I have not heard from our agency.  They said they would call this week, but she was out of town, so I am sure she is backed up.  Maybe I am finally letting go of my control issues-but that would be a very optimistic statement.  Maybe it’s because my husband is coming back from Texas today.  Maybe it is because I am developing a flat affect.  Maybe it is because I am now shifting gears to VA.KAY.SHUN!  Only six weeks until we depart to the Outback.  To gear up for the big trip, I flipped through our millions of vacation pictures and stumbled across the photo below.  I think it reminded me that even though I am not getting what I want at this moment, life is still good.  No amount of obsessing is going to change that, it will just send me to an institution.  Hummmm…mabye I am already there?

Great place to be, loving life. It’s funny… throughout our whole adoption process, I was frustrated beyond belief. But when I stepped back and really thought about it, I always came to the conclusion that life is still very, very good.
    Glad you’re there too 🙂

I’m glad you’re calm. It’s that “peace that passes all understanding.” It will happen! Keep your positive attitude.

Have a wonderful time in Australia! I’ve always wanted to go there. If you see the Take Home Chef, or any other cute single Aussie for that matter, pass on my info!
